Bipolar Ionization (BPI)
This technology creates positive and negative ions that are supplied into the building's occupied spaces throughout the existing building HVAC systems. These charged ions seek out atoms and molecules in the air to stabilize the electron imbalance. The ions destroy the virus's molecular structure and also cleans the air of particulates, pollen, odors and VOC's (volatile organic compounds). |
Philip Tierno, a clinical professor of microbiology and pathology at NYU school of medicine says, "The ions produce a chemical reaction on the cell membrane surfaces that inactivates the virus-it can reduce 99.9% of microbes in a matter of minutes".
This BPI technology is a viable, cost-effective solution for buildings to provide an additional layer of protection against airborne contagions. BPI also provides benefits to your building beyond pandemic by providing clean air which allows a reduction in outside air that results in increased energy savings for the next 15+ years. |
We at Master Mechanical, Inc have installed this technology in our building and in multiple sites across the Twin Cities Metro area. Nationally, facilities that have already installed these systems include the following:
-LaGuardia, O'Hare, LAX and San Francisco airports -Amalie Arena in Tampa -Google Office is Chicago & San Jose -John Hopkins Hospital -Children's Hospital Boston -Maryland Medical Center |
